City Park Ice Rink
The City Park Ice Rink is one of Europe’s oldest and largest outdoor ice rinks, set up each winter in the basin of City Park Lake.
The rink opened in 1870, and its historic main building was designed by Ignác Alpár, reflecting the elegance of turn-of-the-century architecture. In winter, it draws thousands of skaters, while the towers of Vajdahunyad Castle and the trees of City Park create a unique backdrop.
In summer, the area transforms back into City Park Lake, where boating is possible, giving the same space a completely different character across the seasons.
