House of Music Hungary

The House of Music Hungary opened in 2022 in Budapest's City Park and is one of the most distinctive works of contemporary Hungarian cultural architecture.

The building was designed by Sou Fujimoto, aiming to dissolve the boundary between nature and the built environment.

The floating, perforated roof structure evokes the rhythm of the tree canopies, while the fully glazed ground level creates a seamless transition between the park and the interior spaces. The building is not only a concert and exhibition venue, but also an interactive sound experience space, where sound and architecture shape one another.

The House of Music Hungary is both a contemporary cultural center and an architectural statement: a light, transparent pavilion among the trees of City Park, which received major international architectural awards in 2022, including the International Architecture Award and the World Architecture Festival Award.
