Matild Palace
Located near Ferenciek Square, Matild Palace was built as one of the Klotild Palaces in 1902, in historicist Neo-Baroque style, commissioned by Archduchess Mária Klotild. The twin palaces frame the Pest entrance of Elisabeth Bridge like a ceremonial gateway to the inner city.
During the 20th century it functioned as an apartment palace and office building, then following an extensive restoration it reopened in 2021 as a luxury hotel. Today it operates as part of the Marriott International Luxury Collection, while preserving the building’s historic façade and richly decorated interiors.
